We all know the foldable screen that few brands of cell phones are implementing and selling right now, but OPPO X in 2021 (yes 2021) gave us a glimpse, have you heard about “rollable screen” it looks like magic!.

The OPPO X 2021, a rollable prototype phone developed by the Chinese company, represents a significant leap in smartphone design and functionality. Unlike the current generation of foldable phones, this innovative device presents a unique form factor that may initially appear unremarkable when laid flat on a table. However, upon closer inspection, the OPPO X 2021 reveals its true beauty and innovative design. Despite its resemblance to other super-sized phones, the distinctive thick bezel on the right side adds a touch of uniqueness, setting it apart from the standard smartphone design. This unconventional feature may attract some curious glances, but it ultimately contributes to the device’s overall appeal and functionality. Indeed, the OPPO X 2021 exemplifies the pursuit of cutting-edge technology and exceptional design in the realm of modern smartphones.

Motorola is working on rolling screen too and the concept phone name Motorola RIZR

Double-tapping the power button can cause the display to enlarge, or it can rely on software activities. For example, the display enlarges when you launch a YouTube video or begin writing an email in order to maximize the amount of available area for content or to achieve the proper aspect ratio. The latest design from Motorola takes a little while to use, but it really does a great job.

The ability to seamlessly interact with a device through intuitive actions such as double-tapping the power button underscores the user-centered approach employed by modern technology. In the case of the latest Motorola design, the feature not only optimizes the display for different tasks but also enhances the user experience through subtle yet impactful functionality. It’s fascinating how such advancements can become seamlessly integrated into our daily routines, often without us even realizing the extent of their impact.

Certainly! It’s fascinating to see how technology is evolving, isn’t it? The emergence of flexible displays is not only transforming the way we interact with our cell phones, but it’s also leading to intriguing advancements in other devices such as laptops. Lenovo has already showcased their prototype laptop, offering a glimpse into how changing displays can revolutionize the design and functionality of both phones and laptops in the future. This innovative approach opens up possibilities for features that were previously unimaginable when constrained by the idea of a screen as an immobile, flat item. It’s truly exciting to envision the potential developments that could arise from this shift in perspective!

and last but not least, Samsung. The company has been working on rolling screens for a while now, the Rollable Flex prototype Its revolutionary OLED panel reads blood pressure, heart rate, and stress levels from your fingertips and can identify fingerprints anywhere on the screen.

The integration of fingerprint sensors directly into the OLED display marks a significant technological advancement in smartphone design. Unlike most contemporary fingerprint sensors that require a separate module, this innovative approach allows for a seamless and integrated user experience. By embedding the sensor within the display itself, manufacturers can potentially streamline the overall design of the device and eliminate the need for an additional physical component, thus maximizing the use of available space.

One of the key areas of interest is the accuracy and efficiency of the fingerprint readings obtained through this integrated OLED display. As this technology continues to evolve, questions arise regarding the precision of the readings, the duration of the authentication procedure, and whether simultaneous fingerprint authentication and additional functions can be performed without compromising accuracy or speed. These unknown factors present opportunities for further exploration and improvement, as advancements in sensor technology and software optimization may address these uncertainties in the future.

Looking ahead, there is an exciting potential for future smartphones equipped with Sensor OLED Displays to offer enhanced functionality, potentially expanding beyond traditional fingerprint authentication. With the integration of health monitoring functions typically found in smartwatches, such as heart rate tracking and other biometric measurements, smartphones could further evolve into comprehensive personal health and wellness devices. This convergence of features opens up possibilities for users to conveniently access a range of health-related data and services directly from their smartphones, contributing to a more holistic and interconnected digital experience.

In conclusion, the integration of fingerprint sensors within the OLED display not only represents a remarkable feat in engineering and design, but also sets the stage for the potential expansion of smartphone capabilities into new and impactful domains, such as personal health and wellness monitoring. As this technology matures and evolves, the fusion of biometric authentication and health monitoring presents a compelling vision for the future of smartphones.

You can be sure all the other companies are working on their own version of rolling screen maybe apple will join the fun (late as always), but for now it looks like the future is “rolling in” fast!! (<–see what i did there? hahaha “rolling”… like the screens!! haha… UNHAND ME!! i can show myself out)

THAT’S ALL FOR NOW…BYE!!
