Though production started in early January, Stranger Things season 5 doesn’t have an official release date yet. The anticipation for the new season is building up, leaving fans eager to unravel the next chapter of the hit series. With the shooting schedule reaching its halfway point in early July, co-creator Ross Duffer shared an update on Instagram, sparking discussions and speculations among fans. As the production continues, viewers are left wondering about the intricate plotlines and character developments that await them. While some are concerned that the release might be delayed until 2026, others remain optimistic, eagerly awaiting any announcements from the show’s creators and Netflix. With each season bringing new mysteries and unexpected twists, the wait for Stranger Things 5 only adds to the excitement and suspense surrounding the beloved sci-fi series.

A huge celebrity from Terminator has joined the cast of Stranger Things 5, which is the biggest casting announcement aside from those returning from season 4. Yes, Linda Hamilton—best known for playing Sarah Connors in the Terminator series—is the most famous addition, but we’re not sure what part she’s playing.

Stranger Things season 5 will push the boundaries as Hawke disclosed that the show is shooting “essentially, eight movies.”

Matt Duffer hinted that this season would be different from the others. Things are moving rather quickly as we begin season 5. Dustin’s plot in season five will be affected by Eddie’s death, much as how Max’s storyline was affected by [season] three and how it affected her narrative in season four. We are going to witness a hitherto unseen aspect of him. It will also resemble Season 1 on a much larger scale.”

In terms of probable character demises, we believe Eleven and Mike will live. That’s despite Wolfhard’s statement—via GQ—that he would be willing to let Mike die. We think Hopper, Joyce, and Will will survive since they’ve all gone through a lot together. But as far as we are concerned, everyone else is up for grabs. It’s implied that several of the key characters will perish in Stranger Things season 5, which is likely to be the deadliest yet. The heightened stakes and escalating conflicts promise an intense and emotional journey for the beloved characters. As the Duffer brothers continue to push the boundaries of the Upside Down and the supernatural elements of the show, audiences can’t help but wonder who will ultimately meet their demise in the relentless battle against the unknown forces threatening Hawkins. The impending dangers and unforeseen challenges set the stage for a tumultuous and gripping narrative, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats as they await the fate of their favorite characters.

There are still unresolved subplots to be addressed, such as Lieutenant Colonel Sullivan’s continued pursuit of Eleven, whom he believes is accountable for the fatalities in and around Hawkins. In the season 4 volume 2 unlocked episode, Gaten Matarazzo teased that Dustin would “find it tough to see a light at the end of the tunnel,” thus it would be interesting to observe how Eddie’s passing affects Dustin.

There’s no trailer yet for season 5, but meanwhile, watch this “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” trailer, a play that acts as the first in the “Stranger Things” series on Netflix. The play is set in 1959 Hawkins, Indiana, and it delves into the pasts of several significant characters from the program, such as Henry Creel, who goes on to become Vecna, the villain.
